These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Alef Core LLC ("we", "us"), the company behind Alef Diary (the "app"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Alef Diary.
1. Who can use Alef Diary
You must be at least 13 years old to use Alef Diary. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you are able to enter into this agreement.
2. Your account
You create an account with an email address and password. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
3. The service
Alef Diary lets you record diary entries by voice, text, or video, and turns each entry into a written chapter — with elements such as a title, mood, palette, imagery, and recurring people and places. The app is under active development, and features may change, be added, or be removed over time.
4. Your content and who owns it
- You own your content. You keep all rights to the entries you create and to the chapters and images Alef Diary generates for you.
- You give us permission to process it. You grant us a limited license to store and process your content for the sole purpose of operating the app and providing the service to you. This license ends when you delete the content or your account.
- We do not train AI on your content, and we do not sell it. See our Privacy Policy for the details.
- You are responsible for what you record. You confirm you have the right to submit the content and reference photos you upload.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Alef Diary for anything unlawful, or to upload content you have no right to use.
- Upload another person's images or likeness without their consent.
- Attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
- Resell or commercially exploit the app without our permission.
6. AI-generated content
Chapters, images, and narration are generated automatically from your entries using AI. They are interpretations of what you recorded and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected. Alef Diary is a personal, creative tool — it is not a source of professional, medical, legal, or mental-health advice.
7. Subscriptions and payments
- Paid plans. Alef Diary offers paid subscription tiers. The features and current price of each tier are shown at the point of purchase.
- Billing. Subscriptions are billed through our payment processor, Stripe (or, where you subscribe through an app store, through that store).
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel beforehand. You can cancel at any time; your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. If you subscribed through an app store, refunds are handled under that store's policy.
- Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Any change applies to future billing periods, and we will give you notice before it takes effect.
Pricing and tier structure are being finalized. This section is intentionally general; we will update it with the specific tiers and prices before paid plans launch.
8. Our intellectual property
The Alef Diary app, the Alef name and logo, and the software and design behind the service belong to Alef Core LLC. These Terms do not give you any rights to our trademarks or software beyond using the app as intended.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using Alef Diary and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the app in a way that could harm other users or the service. If we terminate your account for a serious violation, these Terms still apply to your prior use.
10. Disclaimers
Alef Diary is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will meet your expectations. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alef Core LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or content, arising from your use of Alef Diary. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located in the State of Delaware, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Alef Diary after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
